Key Mechanic: Sandpit / Frantic Escape
The Insatiable creates a Sandpit counter that decreases by 1 each turn. At zero, it instantly devours you — run over. Six Frantic Escape cards are shuffled into your deck; playing one increases the Sandpit counter, buying more time. But playing Escapes costs energy and cards that could go toward damage.
Attack Pattern
Turn 1: Sandpit timer starts, Frantic Escapes added. Then cycles: Strength Buff → Strike → Heavy Strike. Damage escalates quickly with Strength stacking.
Sandpit
Creates the Sandpit counter and adds 6 Frantic Escape cards to your deck.
Strength Buff
Permanently buffs its Strength, making every subsequent attack more dangerous.
Strike
15 damageStandard attack that scales with accumulated Strength.
Heavy Strike
28 damageMajor attack that scales dangerously with Strength stacks.
How to Beat The Insatiable
You must win within 4-5 turns or the Sandpit kills you. Build your entire Act 1-2 deck around burst damage. Keep your deck small (around 20 cards) so you reliably draw Frantic Escape cards when you need them. Don't play too many Escapes early — each one costs energy that should go toward killing the boss. Play Escapes only when the timer is critically low.
Keep your deck thin (around 20 cards) to reliably draw Frantic Escape
Don't play Escapes unless the Sandpit timer is critically low
Every Escape played is energy NOT spent on damage — balance carefully
Front-loaded burst decks are essential; slow scaling decks will get devoured
