Frost Wall

Channel Frost Orbs for massive passive Block generation. With Focus, each Frost Orb generates more Block than most dedicated Block cards.

Synergy Chain

How the core cards connect
1
Coolheaded:Channel 1 Frost. Draw 1 card.
2
Glacier:Gain 6 Block. Channel 2 Frost.
3
Cold Snap:Deal 6 damage. Channel 1 Frost.
4
Charge Battery:Gain 7 Block. Next turn, gain 1.

How It Plays

Frost Wall is the Defect's premier defensive archetype. Frost Orbs passively generate Block equal to 2 + Focus at the end of each turn. With 3-4 Frost Orbs and 5+ Focus, you're generating 20+ Block per turn passively — without playing a single card. This frees your hand to play draw, Focus generators, or occasional attacks. Coolheaded is the workhorse, providing Block, Frost, and card draw in one package. Glacier channels 2 Frost at once. The build becomes nearly unkillable once Focus is high enough.

Act-by-Act Strategy

1

Act 1

Coolheaded is your best early pick — it blocks, channels Frost, and draws a card. Cold Snap provides Frost while dealing damage. Prioritize getting Frost Orbs channeled to stabilize your defense.

2

Act 2

Focus is the scaling mechanism. Every point of Focus adds +1 Block per Frost Orb per turn. Charge Battery, Amplify, and Focus-granting powers are essential. Glacier channels 2 Frost at once for immediate impact.

3

Act 3

With high Focus and multiple Frost Orbs, your passive Block is enormous. Loop makes your first Orb trigger twice. You can focus entirely on channeling more Orbs and boosting Focus. The build auto-pilots through most encounters.

Boss Matchups

Strong Against

Weak Against

Frost Wall excels against predictable damage patterns where consistent Block is king. Against bosses that deal damage in spikes, bank up extra Frost Orbs. The build's weakness is killing speed — add a Lightning or Dark Orb for damage if your offense is too slow.

Strengths & Weaknesses

Strengths

  • +Passive Block generation without playing cards
  • +Focus scaling makes each Orb exponentially better
  • +Extremely consistent — works every turn automatically
  • +Nearly unkillable against sustained damage

Weaknesses

  • -Slow to kill — needs a damage source to close fights
  • -Focus-removal effects are devastating
  • -Needs multiple turns to set up Orb slots
  • -Weak against enemies that bypass Block
