Lightning Storm

Channel Lightning Orbs for constant passive damage to all enemies. Storm generates Lightning every time you play a Power, creating a self-fueling engine.

How It Plays

Lightning Storm turns the Defect into a passive damage machine. Lightning Orbs deal damage to a random enemy at the end of each turn, and Evoke deals even more when triggered. Storm is the key power — it channels a Lightning Orb every time you play another Power, meaning your Power cards become both utility AND damage. Ball Lightning and Thunderstrike provide direct Lightning-based attacks. With Focus boosting each Orb, the passive damage alone can handle most encounters while you focus on defense.

Act-by-Act Strategy

1

Act 1

Ball Lightning is your best early pick — it deals damage and channels Lightning. Zap provides cheap Lightning generation. Static Discharge punishes enemies for attacking you with free Lightning Orbs.

2

Act 2

Storm is the archetype-defining card. Once Storm is in play, every Power you play channels a free Lightning Orb. Stack Powers aggressively. Focus cards make each Lightning Orb hit harder.

3

Act 3

With Storm online and multiple Orb slots, you're dealing passive AoE damage every turn. Thunderstrike deals damage for each Lightning channeled in the fight. The build handles multi-enemy encounters exceptionally well.

Weak Against

Lightning Storm excels against multi-enemy fights and bosses with minions. The passive damage kills adds before they become dangerous. Against single-target bosses, make sure you have enough Focus to make Lightning Orbs deal meaningful damage. Mix in some Frost for survivability.
